Estero Marsh Preserve |

Estero Marsh Preserve is located in Section 12, Township 46S, Range 24E of southern coastal Lee County. When purchased by Lee County, the Preserve consisted of two Conservation 20/20 nominations, #66 and #128, located southwest of US 41. Nomination #128 contains 160.4 acres and is located directly adjacent to and contiguous with the existing Estero Bay Preserve State Park, one-half mile west of Island Park Road and Island Park Village, and south of The Forest Country Club Community. |

Nomination #66 is approximately 83 acres in size and is located south of the Island Park Village on the northwest corner of Island Park Drive and Park Road. It shares its western border with the southeast boundary of Nomination #128. The total acreage of the Estero Marsh Preserve is approximately 243 acres.
Estero Marsh Preserve consists of seven native plant communities: mesic flatwoods, wet flatwoods, mesic hammock, prairie hammock, tidal swamp, tidal marsh, and tidal salt barren. It also includes other land use types including berms, dikes and levees, previously cleared land, primitive trails, electrical power transmission lines, tidal swamp lake, as well as a large area of wet flatwoods and exotics communities. |

| Restoration Activites: |
Ongoing DOT mitigation project to remove invasive exotic plants, plant native vegetation, and hydrologic restoration, including the installation of 4 culverts along the FPL right-of-way and the creation of a filter marsh. |

| No public amenitites are currently planned for this Preserve due to the sensitive nature of the plant communities. If there is suffcient demand, boardwalks might be considered in the future (see Land Stewardship Plan for more information). |
