Land Stewardship is a group of trained and dedicated people working together to protect and restore Lee County’s conservation lands. Collectively, Land Stewardship is responsible for 16,000 acres of conservation lands across the county. Land Stewardship staff utilizes a variety of methods to protect the natural resources on these lands.

Responsibilities include:

Creating Land Stewardship plans for each site

Planning and implementing restoration work-including invasive exotic plant control and hydrological restoration

Developing public use areas that are compatible with the individual preserves

Conducting prescribed burns in fire dependant communities

Protecting boundaries
