system detects lightning within 10 miles of the facility, the air horns sound an
uninterrupted 15-second blast and the strobe light will activate. Park patrons
who hear the horn and/or see the light need to seek shelter immediately. When
the system no longer detects a threat, three 5-second blasts from the horn will

The San Carlos Community pool was opened in August of 1989. The pool is home to the Gulf Coast Swim Team that serves the youth and adults in the community. Deck lights for night swimming were installed in 1991. A shade Structure was added in 1998. A small pool slide was added in 2002 and is available when there is not any Aerobic classes being taught. The pool underwent a resurfacing project in 2005. Three large size Funbrellas were also added during the summer of 2005 to nearly triple the amount of shaded area already provided. A double flume water slide was installed for added fun.
