History
The San Carlos Community pool was opened in August of 1989. The pool is home to the Gulf Coast Swim Team that serves the youth and adults in the community. Deck lights for night swimming were installed in 1991. A shade Structure was added in 1998. A small pool slide was added in 2002 and is available when there is not any Aerobic classes being taught. The pool underwent a resurfacing project in 2005. 3 Large size Funbrellas were also added during the summer of 2005 to nearly triple the amount of shaded area already provided. A double flume water slide was installed for added fun.

The Lifeguard staff are Certified through the StarFish Aquatic Institute StarGuard Program. The Learn to Swim Instructor staff are Certified through the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Program.
