The Lee County Ranger Unit currently consists of two Ranger Supervisors and eight Rangers. This unit is responsible for patrolling all of Lee County’s Parks and Recreation areas and Conservation 2020 properties. This includes approximately 3,500 acres of developed parklands made up of parks, preserves, boat ramps, community centers, athletic complexes, beaches, and pools. In addition the Rangers patrol more than 7,500 acres of environmentally sensitive lands.

The Ranger Unit is a uniformed enforcement unit that is responsible for enforcing park rules and regulations that fall under the Lee County Ordinance 06-26. The Rangers are considered “Ambassadors of the Park” and provide visitors with information regarding park activities, park accommodations, and general park information. Rangers patrol all of Lee County Parks during various hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays. They ensure the safety of park visitors and protect the natural resources of the unique ecosystems of our lands.

In addition to the Ranger’s duties of patrolling and visitor safety they also conduct various environmental education programs, such as nature walks, wildlife programs and classroom power point presentations.
