Anhinga
Have you ever seen a bird swim underwater? This is an Anhinga, commonly called the “snakebird.” This anhinga is fishing for a meal. Anhingas dive completely underwater and spear fish with their long, pointed bills. Then they come to the surface, throw the fish into the air, and swallow it headfirst. Anhingas open their wings in the sun to dry them off after a swim. |
